ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt at 2016 Nevada 1000 Event
On Wednesday, December 14, 2016, the Anti-Defamation League of Nevada hosted the annual Nevada 1000 at the home of Dean Dan Hamilton and Mary Ann Winkelmes. Guest of honor, ADL CEO, Jonathan Greenblatt, addressed those in attendance highlighting the current and future state of the league and the “big bets” he is ready to place moving forward. Greenblatt stressed the importance of balancing hate speech and freedom of speech on the internet, on campuses, in board rooms, and throughout our very own neighborhoods. He explained why this is exactly where we will stand our ground against anti-Semitism, bigotry, prejudice, and all forms hate – always.
Guests included ADL Regional Board members, ADL Associate Board members, ADL Glass Leadership Institute participants, and other cherished ADL supporters. One note rang true throughout the evening: each person in the room is an extremely important piece to the work we do both locally and nationally, there is no them, only us. Nevada 1000 was a night to come together to say “THANK YOU” for helping us envision a world without hate and supporting our mission every step of the way. It was a wonderful and optimistic evening for all.
