Amid Rising Antisemitism in Europe, ADL Partners with Central Council of Jews in Germany to Launch Digital Tool Combating Antisemitism

The interactive learning platform brings ADL's expertise in antisemitism education to German schools and communities

New York, New York, January 7, 2026 ... ADL (the Anti-Defamation League), in partnership with the Central Council of Jews in Germany (Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland), announced the launch of "sich be-kennen" (Yiddish: to get to know oneself), a groundbreaking digital learning tool designed to combat antisemitism and foster understanding of Jewish life in Germany.

The interactive online course represents ADL's latest international collaboration to export its proven educational programs to address rising antisemitism in Europe. Antisemitic incidents in Germany reached 8,627 incidents in 2024, a 77% increase year-on-year, according to RIAS, Germany’s antisemitism monitoring organization. Working closely with German Jewish leaders, ADL helped develop the platform to ensure it incorporates best practices in antisemitism prevention while resonating with local audiences.

"This partnership is another example of ADL's commitment to combating antisemitism globally by sharing our educational expertise with Jewish communities worldwide," said Marina Rosenberg, ADL SVP of International Affairs. "By collaborating with our partners at the Central Council of Jews in Germany, we've helped create an online tool that makes Jewish identity tangible and personal for German students and educators."

The course features four comprehensive modules covering Jewish life in Germany today, Jewish religion, Jewish history in Germany, and antisemitism. Each module is presented by authentic Jewish voices and perspectives, creating a digital form of personal encounter.

Key features of the platform include:

  • Customizable course paths for teachers to adapt to their students' needs

  • Interactive elements and self-reflection exercises

  • Audio recordings and simplified language options for increased accessibility

  • Certificates of completion for all participants

  • Twelve topics across four modules, each exploring three distinct Jewish perspectives

The platform was developed through the Central Council's "Meet a Jew" encounter program in cooperation with ADL, with funding from the Action Fund against Antisemitism of the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.

The course is now available at lernen.meetajew.de.
